All of our learning on our programs takes place outside – truly experiential education!

We offer academic programs for:

High Schools – we try to arrange credit through a state college or university

Colleges and Universities – for credit as a departmental or Study Abroad program

Wilderness Schools/Clubs

Tracking Schools/Clubs

Programs run for between 10 and 21 days in Africa, depending on your needs. We can also come to you for weekend or week long tracking programs, wherever you are.

We work with teachers and professors to develop a custom program that suits your speciality. All of our Africa programs are rooted in ecology and tracking, but past programs have included culture, history, anthropology, paleoanthropology, rock-art, “primitive” skills, political science, tourism and hospitality, leadership, art, photography, robotics, geospatial thinking, and all of the ecological subjects: mammalogy, ornithology, herpetology, entomology, botany, ethnobotany, dendrology, geology, astronomy, and many more. If you don’t see it here, ask us!

In the above program, we worked with two high schools from New Hampshire and a high school in South Africa to teach geospatial thinking skills – use the keywords of “Hopkinton” or “Bow” High School search feature in our BLOG to read student accounts of their course.

Academic courses have the additional option of purchasing online curriculum to help prepare students before they get to Africa and enrich their learning experience. We also find that these help with “post-Africa syndrome,” where students feel a little lost when they arrive back home after a rich immersion experience in Africa, only to discover that they now know more about Africa than they do about their own back yard – it gives them a road-map for learning.
